ABOUT THIS VIRTUAL SPANISH COURSE
LEVEL: BEGINNER
Introduction
Upon completion of each chapter of instruction, students will be able to communicate in Spanish in a real-life stituation. The high-frequency, productive vocabulary presented at the beginning of the chapters focuses on a specific communicative topic and covers key situations where students would have to use Spanish to survive. The structure point that follows the vocabulary presentation will enable students to put their new words together to communicate coherently.
After students acquire the essential vocabulary and structure needed to function in a given situation, we present a realistic conversation that uses natural, colloquial Spanish and, most importantly, Spanish that students can readily understand. To introduce students to the culture of the Spanish-speaking world, the chapter topic is subsequently presented in a cultural milleu in narrative form. The Lecturas culturales scombine known knowledge and enable students to read and learn - in Spanish - about the fascinating cultures of the people who speak Spanish.
